I just found Bubbe today & am so excited! I have watched several of your videos today & can’t wait to look up the recipes. This Kasha dish looks amazing, I can’t wait to try it. Avrom, you are a lucky man, I wish your Bubbe was my Bubbe too! What a joy! Shalom & best wishes for continued success on your food show!

Congratulations on the lovely mention in the Wall Street Journal! I’m glad to see you and Avrom getting some well-earned press.
Loved the recent episode in which you make blintzes. Reminds me of watching my Memere make crepes back in the day… although with the cheese and cinnamon, yours may have beaten her crepes in a minute.
It was great meeting you at the VON conference in San Jose this spring. Hope you and Avrom are well, and am looking forward to future episodes…

Hi Bubbe and Avrom,
What a wonderful show! When my Bubbe, who I called Nana, shared family traditional recipes,
she always left something out. This way her cooking was always the best!
One Passover, she had had horrible pain in her leg. I was a teenager at the time and she directed me
from the kitchen table on how to prepare the seder meal step by step. That’s the only way I know the complete recipe today. She had me roll tiny little matzo balls that cooked up very fluffy! My own mother doesn’t have all the secrets!
Okay here’s my question. My husband likes his matzo balls to be sinkers – just like his mother’s!
So please give me the “don’ts” of matzo balls. I want to keep my hubby happy.
BTW – I own all small video production company in Texas and I really enjoy watching the show!
Felice
Enjoyed reading your email. Do you mean by matzo ball sinkers, hard matzo balls?
Generally Matzo Balls are supposed to be fluffy, hard Matzo balls are the result of not letting the matzo meal and egg mixture rest for about 15 minutes.
This helps the matzo meal and the egg mixture blend together and makes matzo balls soft.

Dear Bubbe,
I cannot tell you how much I enjoy your videos. Obviously, you should also be incredibly proud of your grandson, who is being a true “mensch” and also performing a true “mitzvah” not only in honoring his grandmother, but also preserving culture, not only Jewish culture, but that of an entire generation.
My grandmother gave a set of Club aluminum pots and pans, (avocado, though, not goldenrod, like yours), and when I see you cooking with them, it reminds me so of her. Also talking about the Catskills while you were making tzimis, reminded me of my family stays at both Grossingers, and the Concord, in the 1960’s (Mom liked Grossingers, but Dad preferred the Concord, so we switched back and forth).
Anyway, you bring me such joy, my thanks to everyone of you who work so hard to give this wonderful gift of your time and your lives…..Bubbe you are FAMOUS!!

We all have good memories of the Catskills. The food and the entertainment could not be beat and I often wondered how the waiters remembered all the orders without writing them down. It’s hard to find places to compare nowadays. It’s truly a shame.

I just discovered your show; it’s AMAZING! On episode 12, Bubbe said if there was something we wanted to know how to make you would oblige.
Well, if you would be SOOO kind, Bubbe, would you please enlighten me and teach us how to make
-a sweet luchshen kugel…
Thanks, Bubbe!
Yehudis (young married lady)
As far as sweet Luchshen Kugel our recipe in episode #2 is sweet however just adding more sugar and cinnamon should do it or if you prefer you can use noodles, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, and margarine mixed together and baked. However this will produce a heavier Luchshen Kugel.

Your video brought joy and tears of learning how to cook from my mother and grandmother. Bubbe is truly from “the greatest generation.” Thank you.

You made my day, as this is what I am trying to bring to the internet culture for the current and future generations.

Are you jewish? WHat is jewish food?
-AdamusMinimus (from Youtube on 6-2007)
Jewish food is the same as all other food with the exception that dairy and meat food our separated and there are traditional recipes. We also do not eat shellfish or pork. That being said there is so many different recipes one can make to experience every type of cuisine out there today as Jewish people live all over the world and have incorporated the food from the areas that they live in.

Oh Bubbe I love you, you’re the BEST! So kind, reassuring and encouraging, too.
Been wanting to make delectable latkes for the longest time and now with your guidance and advice I’m doing so very soon. I would never leave out the yummy, complimentary apple sauce and sour cream either! Very long may you live. You’re living proof we should ALL be Jewish w/an irreplaceable Bubbe!! xoxo
You have also encouraged me to continue to make more video recipes. Good luck on the latkes, I’m sure they will turn out well.
